Dangerous driving leads to crash and search

Each year innocent bystanders are put at risk by the reckless and dangerous behaviors of others. This was exactly the case on a Colorado highway on a Thursday, when two fleeing criminals weaved in and out of traffic, finally colliding with a road barrier.

Two people matching the description of individuals wanted by local law enforcement are also wanted for fleeing the scene of an accident. In the morning hours of a Thursday, two individuals were reportedly swerving in and out of highway traffic when their vehicle collided with a road barrier. Witnesses reported that a man and woman fled the scene of the accidents on foot. Authorities responded to the accident scene and a search ensued. Although authorities are not aware of what caused the driver and passenger to behave so recklessly on the highway, or what led them to flee the scene of their accident but authorities believe it may have something to do with a crime.

Several local schools were ordered to institute lockouts during the search. Authorities used the help of canine units to try to locate the suspects but came up with nothing. The suspects not only posed a significant danger to other drivers while speeding on the highway, but they were also believed to be armed and dangerous while fleeing on foot.

While the accident that the two suspects caused involved only them, it understandably could have been much worse. Other drivers traveling alongside the speeding car could have easily been the victims of a serious collision caused by the reckless decisions of these drivers. Fortunately, no others were injured in this accident. However, the risk that speed and dangerous driving pose to others is not only reserved for fleeing criminals and those driving alongside them. Every day the decision to drive recklessly injures and kills innocent people. For victims and their families, speaking to a personal injury attorney may help see that justice is done.
