Kathryn R. Laughlin
Kathryn Laughlin is an associate with Donelson Ciancio & Goodwin, P.C., and a member of the Family Law team. She was born and raised in Westminster, Colorado and received her B. A., cum laude, from the University of Colorado in 2000. Ms. Laughlin was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2006 after receiving her Juris Doctor (J. D.) from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, where she was an active member of Phi Delta Phi, a legal honors fraternity, and where she developed her passion for Family Law as a Student Attorney in the Family Law section of the Student Law Office.
During this time, Katie was also an intern for the American Civil Liberties Union. She is currently a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association and the Adams/Broomfield County Bar Association, where she sits as the Family Law Section Chairperson-elect. Katie has worked for DCG since January 2007 where she has focused on mastering the areas of: Family Law; Family Law Mediation; Dissolution of Marriage and Legal Separation actions; Post-decree Modification Actions; Allocation of Parental Responsibility Actions; and Adoption.

Katie is a strong advocate for providing legal services to underprivileged people, evidenced by the many roles she has taken on within the legal community, including:
- Metro Volunteer Lawyers’ (MVL) Governing Board, present
- MVL mentoring and education subcommittee, present
- Participated in drafting efforts and meetings between MVL, the office of Attorney Regulation Counsel, DU and CU Law School, and the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center
- Gives pro-bono legal services at the Family Tree clinics
- Serves as a judge for the Adams County and Colorado Regional Mock Trial Competitions
- Susan G. Komen race for the Cure, Denver Affiliate, Executive Committee Member (Director of Communications), 2009-present
- City of Brighton, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, 2009-present
