Divorce settlement finally on the horizon for Kutcher and Moore?

Divorce is never easy. By the time a marriage has reached that point, both parties are typically ready to end the whole ordeal as quickly as possible. Sometimes it may not be as easy as signing a paper to finalize the dissolution of a marriage. Particularly when a wealthy or high-profile couple is divorcing, the process can become long and drawn out as both parties fight for what they want and feel they deserve.

The divorce dispute continues for actor, Ashton Kutcher and his estranged wife, actress, Demi Moore. According to reports, after more than a year, the two are still haggling over a divorce settlement. During their marriage, Kutcher’s career experienced significant success and growth. In addition to making movies and commercials, he also is reported to have grossed more than $20 million from an investment firm he is involved with. Moore is seeking $10 million in the divorce settlement from that project alone. Kutcher reportedly does not think she is owed half of what he made with the investment firm.

It was not reported whether or not the pair had a prenuptial agreement. If they did not, the assets and income Kutcher earned and brought to the relationship during their time together could be viewed as marital property and may be subject to equitable distribution. The two have reportedly been embroiled in their divorce dispute for more than a year. It is unknown to the public at this time whether a settlement could be reached soon.

Especially in cases involving significant assets, an attorney can help to look out for your interests and may be able to help you get what you feel you are owed from your time in the relationship. An experienced lawyer will also be able to address concerns and answer questions as they arise.
