Actress, Phyllis Lyons files for divorce from actor, Adam Arkin

Marriage can be a difficult relationship to maintain over the years. For celebrities and other high-profile couples in Denver, it can be especially complicated because of the constant attention of the public. Like everyday married couples, celebrity couples also occasionally decide that the differences between them cannot be overcome and divorce is the best option.

According to reports, in addition to filing for divorce from her actor-husband, Adam Arkin, actress, Phyllis Lyons, has also filed a motion requesting that the court not grant Arkin spousal support, should he request it. It was not reported whether or not the two signed a prenuptial agreement prior to their August 1998 wedding. A judge will likely determine the division of assets, property and other resources in finalizing a divorce settlement between the high-profile couple. She has also requested that her soon to be ex-husband pay all of the legal fees and costs for their divorce. No specific reason was reported for the split, she cited irreconcilable differences in her filing.

Lyons has also reportedly filed for joint custody of the couple’s 8-year-old son. It is unknown whether Arkin will agree to a shared custody arrangement or if he plans to seek sole custody of the boy. Depending on the agreement, a judge may order Lyons or Arkin to pay child support.

Just like in this case, there are numerous details that need to be sorted out when any couple divorces. If you are considering divorce, or if your spouse has filed for divorce, it may be of benefit to obtain legal representation. An experienced attorney can address any concerns you may have, as well as look out for your interests and ensure your rights are upheld.
