Alleged drunk driver crashes, killing one and injuring others

In Jefferson, drivers must constantly be aware of the possibility of a drunk driver on the road. With the ability to occur at any time, drunk driving accidents can lead to serious injuries and even death. Even the most cautious drivers are not immune to the potential drunk driver appearing and affecting their lives for an extended period, damaging it significantly.

A three-vehicle accident resulted in the death of one man recently in Colorado. Others who were injured in the accident were taken to the hospital. A 34-year-old man from Centennial, driving a Dodge truck, allegedly crossed the center line and crashed head-on with another vehicle. The man driving the truck was arrested on suspicion of being a drunk driver and vehicular homicide.

With an accident caused by a drunk driver results in serious injuries or fatalities, the consequences can be life-changing. In addition to the shock from a loved one being hurt or killed, there will be expenses and the possible need for long-term care. If the injured or killed loved one was supporting the family, the entire family dynamic could be altered due to the negligence of another. If this kind of accident happens, the family needs to understand that they have a limited amount of time to seek damages from the drunk driver and insurance companies. It is important to take steps early in the process to ensure there is a proper investigation into the crash and all papers are filed promptly.

In this accident, the driver has been arrested and is faces a slew of charges for his actions. The family of the people who suffered serious injuries and the man who was killed are now paying the price for the negligence of the allegedly drunk driver. It is often beneficial to contact an attorney to discuss options in a case as soon as possible.
