About Kyle

Kyle J. Martelon is a Partner and member of the Family Law and Civil Litigation Teams. A Colorado native, Kyle earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2004 and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the nation’s oldest academic honor society. In 2010, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he graduated in the top 3% of his class and was inducted into the Order of St. Ives, an honorary scholastic legal society.

During law school, he served as a federal judicial intern to the Honorable Magistrate Judge Craig B. Shaffer of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. He also served as a legal intern in the Office of Legal Counsel for Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, Jr., assisted low-income clients with various civil controversies in the University’s Civil Litigation Clinic, and worked as a teaching assistant for the University’s legal writing program.  Further, he worked as a law clerk, and then as a contract attorney, for Outten & Golden LLP, a New York City-based employment law firm.

After law school, Kyle served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Jane A. Tidball at the Jefferson County District Court, where he assisted Judge Tidball in managing her division’s civil, domestic, and criminal dockets. Through this experience, Kyle learned from an inside perspective how judges evaluate, analyze, and decide complex legal issues.  This valuable knowledge assists Kyle every day in his practice and allows him to develop particularized and effective strategies based upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Prior to joining Ciancio Ciancio Brown, P.C., Kyle worked at boutique family law firm in downtown Denver, where he helped effectuate Colorado’s first-ever same-sex dissolution of civil union action and engaged in substantial pro bono work, and then at the Denver District Attorney’s Office. At CCB, Kyle’s practice includes family law and general litigation matters. Kyle understands that parties to these matters are very often going through some of the most difficult times in their lives, and he approaches each case with compassion, understanding, and thoroughness. Kyle is committed to assisting his clients navigate the often-confusing nuances of the judicial system in a manner that leads to the best possible resolution.

In his free time, Kyle enjoys running, traveling, skiing, and the local restaurant scene.
