Reality star Bethenny Frankel seeks to formally end marriage

In the real world people marry and divorce every day. While most of these marriages do not play out on television for all to see, with the large number of reality programs on the airwaves these days it is becoming more and more common to be able to watch the entire relationship from start to finish.

Denver area residents who are fans of television personality Bethenny Frankel, probably tuned in to her reality show "Bethenny Ever After." The show was a spin-off of another reality program she had previously been on and chronicled her engagement and 2010 wedding as well as the birth of the couple's daughter. Those same viewers may have been sad to learn of the couple's recent split.

Frankel and her husband have been open with the challenges they faced as a couple as Frankel's business took off. They nonetheless claimed to be working on their relationship and denied that they were planning on splitting. News broke of the couple's separation at the end of last year however and Frankel reportedly filed for divorce last week.

The divorce could be a contentious one. In addition to child custody, visitation and support matters surrounding the couple's 2-year-old daughter, the dissolution will likely be considered a high asset divorce. After the couple married, the reality show star saw a great success in one of her business ventures which led her to sell a business for an undisclosed amount that was deemed to be a lot. These types of divorces are often complicated and require the use of outside parties such as accountants, appraisers and business valuators.

All divorces are difficult regardless of the value of the assets involved. Because of this, most who find themselves facing a divorce find that it is beneficial to work with an attorney.
